Election night
November 7, 2012 - 1:04 AM
So I just drew 2 separate cartoons on Election Night. The first edition of The News had a 10pm deadline, and since the results didn't come in by then, I went with the version below. But as the night wore on, Obama secured the victory through wins in the rust belt, which led me to the sketch above. I usually avoid metaphors that have been heavily used by other cartoonists, but the image summed it up nicely. Plus I had not yet drawn a dog carrier cartoon - I was waiting for the right moment... In the morning I will update them with color versions.
