Live Blogging from Bills-Jets

10:06 left in the fourth quarter: Losman directs a drive that ends in a field goal by Rian Lindell. It's 6-3, but the way the Jets' offense is playing that might be enough to win.

---Allen Wilson

2:50: Losman completed his first pass to Derek Schouman. Word from Bills PR is Edwards went to the locker room with a wrist injury. Losman just threw a pass that would have been picked off for a touchdown if it had been more accurate.

3:23 left in the third: Well, you figured it would happen sooner or later. Edwards is out and J.P. Losman is on the field with the offense. Just watch, he'll lead the Bills to victory and the quarterback controversy will ignite again in Buffalo.

5:57 left in the third: Edwards was being examined on the sideline for some kind of hand injury, but it looks like he's going back into the game. This game cried out for a big special teams play. Roscoe Parrish just obliged, returning a punt 31 yards to put the Bills back in business at the Jets' 44-yard line.

-- Jerry Sullivan

7:52 left in third quarter: Time to hit the caffeine. It's still 3-3 and there's no sign of this one getting any more compelling. The Bills put together three first downs on a drive that started from their own 10, but stalled when Edwards was sacked for the first time today. The Jets sent everyone but the equipment manager on the play. The Jets came out throwing for some reason, with predictably forgettable results.

Lynch is back. He suffered a hip injury.

-- Jerry Sullivan

Halftime: It's 3-3. Having fun yet? Keep the caffeine handy because this one has the makings of a real snooze fest. Lynch returned for the Bills' last drive after getting his hip checked out, but he didn't touch the ball. We'll monitor his condition as the game continues. But for now, I'm off to take some No-Doz so I can stay awake for this thriller.

-- Allen Wilson

5:58 left in the seconds: The defense bailed Edwards out by stopping the Jets. However, running back Marshawn Lynch has left the field. No word yet on any injury.

--- Allen Wilson

10:21 left in second quarter: Two long drives, two short field goals. At this rate we'll be done by dinner time.

---Allen Wilson

7:58: Edwards gets hit as he throws and the ball is intercepted by Jets cornerback Darrell Revis. Jets are starting to get pressure on Edwards by blitzing more. We'll see how the rookie handles it the rest of the day.

--- Allen Wilson

End of first quarter:

Wow! If only Major League Baseball games went that swiftly. The first quarter ended at 4:28, which means it took only 23 minutes of actual time. The Jets marched down the field after getting the ball back and were at the Bills' 31 when the period ended. So there weren't even two full possessions. After three generally solid performances, the Bills' defense is struggling early.

-- Jerry Sullivan

4:53 left in first quarter: A pretty nice opening drive by the Bills, but you'd like to see more than a field goal after holding the ball for 10 minutes. I have to say, that wasn't a very inspired series that began at the Jets' 13. First down in the red zone is a great time to throw. But they ran Dwayne Wright for no gain.

Want to know of a coach who blew the right thing to do? The coach of the Bill's next opponent, Marvin Lewis. 2 feet for a first down and he goes for a FG? The Malarkey syndrome still exists. Perry Fewell is being too ignored. His troops were in disaster mode to begin the season. And along with Bobby April, these elements are providing opportunity. On the QB, to the Bills....please Ralph, don't you make the decision. Anyone but Ralph. You messed up on Rob Johnson at a key time. You aren't that bright.
Remember Stew Barber? Losman knows all about that "2nd Floor."

How funny this discussion is. Everyone here does realize that the Bills played the Jets yesterday, right?......the Jets. lol

Go Sox, Go Pats!

Well, let's start with the engineered "controversy" to get people interested. In my opinion, that's an invention to keep media interest while the team rebuilds. Unfortunately it also has the potential to destroy a career. That would be JP's I'm talking about in case there is any confusion.
Second, Jauron's comment about pulling JP as not being fair. Thanks for the honesty. At least we know the head coach doesn't believe in fairness and will sacrifice anyone for a win.
JP proved once more that he should be starter without all the threats to his job or nasty comments about his efforts to clean up a city he's adopted, especially when the city won't do it themselves.
I don't have anything against Edwards, he should be allowed to stay as backup. Will he lose starter now that he was injured in a game? He should have never had it in the first place. Grow a backbone and get back with JP!

Lee Evans made a great adjustment to the underthrown ball and saved JP's behind. It could have been a Jet interception and runback for a touchdown making the Jets win. Then JPO would have been the goat.

But it didn't because Evans snatched the ball out of the Jets hands and ran it in for an easy TD.

See how close it was? Yes, Edwards didn't get it going, but the offensive coordinator didn't give him a chance.

Hey, I can throw the damn ball 50 yards.

Good for JP and Good for the Bills. Al I want is a competitive exciting team and all but two games were exciting.

Of course some fans are still saying that if the coaching did this and that the Bills would be 5-2. Who knows. We the could say if the other teams did this and that, they wouldn't have lost.

You are what you are. Start from there. Both QB's can play well with good blocking and good play calling.

I couldn't agree with Scott more -- nothing against Evens, Reed, and Parrish, but the only reason J.P.'s pass looked "questionalbe" is because we have undersized receivers. That's also why we can't throw TD's when we're in the red zone. Edwards is a back-up.

Good for JP. It looks like some people say that was a debatable pass... well watch some other teams, a top receiver gets those balls. Maybe Jauron will grow a pair and name JP the starter without blaming it on Edwards wrist injury. I have nothing against Edwards but at this point he looks like a very good backup QB.

This live blogging is disappointing. Is it the internet at the stadiums, or do you guys not really focus on it? I would like to read your comments after the big plays.

Wow. I was waiting for the repeat of the Denver game when J.P. aired it out with under 6 minutes to go in a close game. I can't believe nobody has said anything about the atrocious play-call that luckily wound up as a TD.

Jauron must be ecstatic that Edwards hurt his hand. Now he can name Losman as the starter vs. Cincinnati without having to commit to either guy. I think that he likes to have one QB injured each week so he never has to make an actual decision himself.

The Bills are now a 5-2 team with 1-6 coaches. It appears as though Jauron & Co. recently graduated from the Art Shell School of Clock Management.

As I predicted last week, JP Losman would get another chance as Bills QB. And, he did the job. Why don't the Bills take more realistic shots down the field like they did when Losman hot Evans. Do the Bills want to give Losman a shot, or do they want to save money by not playing him. If they want Edwards to play, then lets see him throw the ball down the field a bit, enough of the dinking and dunking. I said Losman should NOT lose his job because of injury. Nobody knows more about sports than me.

If Sully reads this, let's not forget that ball JP put right on Roscoe's hands at the five. All were gonna hear about is how bad the TD pass was. Well it was a TD pass, something that Edwards has trouble with. JP has the tools sully, I repsect your opinions, but ten points in ten minutes sure feels better than 3 points through 50 minutes

Additional generic kick to Sullivan's ribs while he's down!

QB controversy over, Buffalo now needs a nitwit sports pundit controversy.

Dump Sullivan!

Sully's a punk. Why d'ya think he hasn't posted an update yet?

He should be fired.

way to play it today, JP!!! Sully...got an axe to grind? JP clearly threw that ball away...the one you said would've been a pick had it been more accurate...looked like it was an obvious throw away

Edwards is a perfect BACKUP QB; Losman is a STARTER!

Losman throws deep, for a TD to Evans. LOSMAN IS OUR QB!!!!!!!!!!!! Edwards cannot throw that ball jerry and alan!!!!

Good punt by the Jets. Can Losman sustain a drive from his own 3 with 5 minutes left?

Pennington has no Arm. I think Edwards is Pennington at best. Smart, Quick, Savy but no arm. Losman, a slower brain, but faster feet and stronger arm. What do you think Jerry?

Third and one, I would have Losman run a bootleg instead. O well 6-3 Bills.

Losman throws deep to Parrish, who drops it. a throw Edwards could not make.
Keep Losman in.
