An NFL tragedy
The death of Washington Redskins Pro Bowl safety Sean Taylor is a tragedy of epic proportions. Beyond the football field, this was a 24-year-old man senselessly cut down in the prime of his life. Taylor was more than a talented football player. He was someone's son and father. He leaves behind lots of loving relatives and friends. I especially feel for his one-year-old daughter, who will grow up without her dad.
The big challenge for the Redskins is trying to overcome Taylor's death and get ready to host the Buffalo Bills this weekend. It will be hard, but somehow I'm sure the Redskins will find a way to pull it together and move forward. I think Taylor probably would want it that way.

it doesnt qualify as a tragedy when the murder is clearly related to drug activity...gated communities dont get robbed twice in two weeks, players rehabing an injury dont generally skip out of town without telling their coach unless they are involved in some shaddy interprise. And finally, 24 year old NFL players dont usually go to bed at 830 at night like his girlfreind said.

"Lloyd, he was rehabbing an injury."
If that's the case, I thank you for the correction, bro'.

Dominic's comment was right on the money. Here it is again in case some of you missed it:
"Anonymous young men who are someone's son and father are killed every day in American cities. This instance is no more tragic than those anonymous instances. The difference is simply that, because he is an NFL player, this instance catchs our attention and makes us stop to think about it a bit. But it is no more tragic...just more well known."
Perfectly stated.
I wonder if that DC newscaster cries every time she hears about the scores of women and children being killed because of the US invasion...or if any of you do. I know I feel sick everytime I hear it.

only one person who cares??? Johnn Latoucer you retard hick. There has been much much more outpouring of grief and sadness over this tragedy than the no-name Bills player with a neck injury. Redskin fans support their players all the time and don't backstab their players like the so-called Bills fans. So you expect anyine to say they care on a Buffalo blog, think McFly think.

Up to now I have not found one person that cares about this football player or for that matter any sport figure.
Let them love each other....

The only question I have is... what in God's Name was he doing in Miami, when his team is about to have a home game this Sunday(just happens to be that it's against Buffalo)?

Yeah, it's terrible. Liberal Democrats have proposed to cut and run and re-deploy all NFL players and police to a safer area-Buffalo's East side.

You are so right, this is a human tragedy. I live in the DC area and the grief is palpable. Yesterday morning it was obvious one of the women newscasters had been crying yet she was on the air. I am not a Redskin fan (doubt that I ever could be) I have been a Bills Fan since I was a little girl, but my heart goes out to each and every one of them Even the anti-christ (Dan Snyder) seemed sad. I pray we don't have to deal with a tradgey of this proportion ever again.

Its tough to describe the situation in the DC area, Taylor was probably the most popular player on the team so the whole area is in a state of mourning. Just a sad, tragic situation to see his life ended at such a young age.
And to Casey's point, I think there will be some things that come out in the investigation of his death that won't be real pleasant. There area a lot of questions that need to be answered and strange circumstances to be explained, such as the phone wires apparently being cut at Taylor's house.

I agree with you on this one, a very senseless tragedy!!! Regrettably something that happens all too frequently especially in our inner cities. A real failing of society.

It is indeed sad and I feel sorry for his daughter especially.
But let's not act surprised if the facts of this shooting come out with ties back to Taylor's shady and troubled background.
My thoughts are with his family.
