Jauron on Okie WR
Bills coach Dick Jauron said today he has no problem with the health of Oklahoma wide receiver Malcolm Kelly, whose knees have become a question mark heading into the draft. Kelly is a prime candidate to be picked by the Bills at No. 11 overall - if he's healthy. He already has visited Buffalo. Kelly's agent, Chad Speck, sent a letter to all 32 teams Monday saying that Kelly is in good health. Kelly did not run at the combine workouts in February due to what was reported as a deep thigh bruise. He actually had a small tear in the quadriceps (the front of the thigh), the agent said. Speck also sent a letter from a doctor attesting to Kelly's healthy. Kelly tore a knee ligament in junior high school and had arthroscopic knee surgery during his sophomore year. He has had a productive career at Oklahoma and has not missed any game action due to knee problems.
Asked about Kelly's knees, Jauron said today: "We feel good about it. Our staff was in Indianapolis with everybody else. There's nothing I'm aware of (that's a problem) at this point." The key date is April 9. That's when Kelly is scheduled to run for pro scouts.

C'mon! all yous in the Bills Org. are looking like a bunch of jabrones. Are you afraid of picking up good offensive players or what?

I don't necessarily think that the team needs a pass rusher. Stroud, if he pans out, will change the way the defense plays the run, and that will allow Kelsay and Schobel to go straight for the QB instead of reading run first on many downs.
I agree that the team is in need of another CB, and while it is in vogue to pick a big WR I think the team really needs to draft defense.
I would be thrilled if they trade down and grab a CB and WR early. My early favorite for WR is Thomas. He reminds me a lot of Moulds. As for the CB? Hmm...thats tougher because nobody really knows a ton about them, but I love the hitting ability of Flowers, and the potential of DRC. Time will tell, but my guess would be they can't trade down, and are forced to decide. Either way, I think they will improve the team. Thats all that really counts.

As demonstrated in the past, it takes time for WR's to develop in the NFL. Remember Eric Moulds? He was a GREAT WR for the Bills. But it still took him till his fourth year before we really got to see what he was made of. Even Andre Reed took a couple of years to develop.
The Bills have many needs currently (WR, TE, FB, CB, Pass-rusher) and I for one would like to see them draft a "plug and play" type of player. A guy who can help us now - not three years from now. A star Cornerback at the number eleven slot of this draft could really be an impact player on this team. Potentially, we could have the #1 rated corner in this draft. He could be a guy to really solidify this defense and therefore giving our team a better chance to win now.

It's always risky to take a wide receiver who has had previous injury problems with his legs (as recently as February).

Still think they could trade down a bit, and still get him or one of the other top WR's (Sweed, Thomas), unless they really strongly prefer one over the other. They could all still be there at say, 17.
