Darian Barnes working
Injured Bills fullback Darian Barnes wasn't practicing with the running backs today, but he was in uniform and was running pretty briskly on the sidelines during the early part of the practice at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Barnes had an MRI on Monday, and we'll get a report from Dick Jauron after practice. But it's apparent his injury is not real serious. The Bills had guard Jason Whittle doing individual work with the running backs. We'll see if Whittle is a handful-of-plays option at fullback this week. Roscoe Parrish was not at practice. ... Meanwhile, Rian Lindell made a 60-yard field-goal try at the start of practice. It bounced off the back of the middle post and through.

Screw the national media. If the Bills keep on winning, the attention will come, and I definitely believe that Buffalo will be 5-0 going into the bye, which would keep them undefeated for an extra week while other teams get an opportunity to lose. That Chargers game will be a real test, though.

The Bills fast start is almost ignored by the national media. It's like they see it as a fluke which will correct itself in time.

Champ,
I think it has a lot to do with the fact that there aren't a lot of injuries (knock on wood) or a QB controversy to fuel the articles. Even BuffaloBills.com or Tim Graham's AFC East blog on ESPN.com don't break a lot of Bills news because the team is 3-0, mostly healthy and in a small market. I think Mark (and the rest of the Bills writing crew) does a very good job of breaking the news when it does occur.

It's easier to write about a bad team than a good team. Unless you're the Patriots.

Mark- I don't want to be critical because I honestly do not have the talent to be a sports writer but I guess I am confused why there is such a lack of coverage for the Bills this season. There used to be so many articles on Sunday and now there are maybe two. Not to mention you go to the Sabres Edge Blog and there is almost a daily update of something or a story on someone for us to comment about. Why is this not so for the Billboard Blog?
