Live Blogging from Bills-Jaguars
End of game: Lindell kicks an insurance field goal and the Bills win, 20-16. It could be their biggest road victory since the Flutie era. Who would have thought they'd be 2-0 and two games up on the Jags at this point in the season?
4:27 left in the fourth: On a big third-and-6, Edwards steps up in the pocket and finds Evans open down the left sideline for 37 yards. On first-and-goal, Edwards find James Hardy open in the right corner for the touchdown. Perfect throw and good time for the rookie to assert himself. Bills lead, 17-16, and it's up to the defense to hold the fort. Hey, wasn't 17-16 the score when Doug Flutie led them to a last-minute win over the Jags 10 years ago? --- Jerry Sullivan.
11:21 left in the fourth: Bills have a big third down at midfield, down six. Edwards, under a heavy rush, dumped a pass off to Fred Jackson in the right flat, but he got buried for a loss of two and Bills are forced to punt. The weary defense has to make a stand here --- Jerry Sullivan.
Third quarter: Boy, did this game turn around suddenly? The Jags dominated the quarter with good offense, defense and special teams. They took the opening drive of the half for a touchdown and then gave the Bills a taste of their own medicine by recovering an onsides kickoff and converted it into a 50-yard field goal by Josh Scobey. The kick would have been good from 70. As the quarter ended, the Jags were driving again after Jags rookie defensive end Quentin Groves beat Jason Peters around the edge to force Trent Edwards to fumble. It's not Jags 13, Bills 10 --- Allen Wilson.
Halftime: Bills go to the locker room ahead, 10-3, after stopping late Jaguars drive. Jacksonville had first down at the 17 with 15 seconds to go when David Garrard's pass was intercepted in the right corner of the end zone by Terrence McGee. McGee had Mike Walker blanketed and Garrard never should have made the throw. Good effort by both units in the heat in the first half. The Bills have moved the ball on offense and haven't turned the ball over. If they keep this up, it'll be a 2-0 start.
6:21 left in the second: The Bills go ahead 10-3 on a 21-yard field goal by Rian Lindell. The offense had its second impressive drive of the day, moving from the Bills' 20 to the Jaguars' 3. On third and goal, Edwards couldn't find anyone open after a play fake in the backfield and threw his first incompletion of the afternoon. Edwards was 10-for-10 to that point. Fred Jackson broke a short pass for 33 yards early in the drive. Jackson looks good as he's been used wisely by coordinator Turk Schonert --- Jerry Sullivan
First quarter: The Bills owned the first part of the quarter, taking the opening drive 82 yards on 11 plays and capping it with an 11-yard touchdown run by Marshawn Lynch. Trent Edwards was 6-for-6 for 53 yards on the drive, including a pair of third down conversions. After the defense forced a three and out, thanks to cornerback blitz by Ashton Youboty, the Bills' offense was stopped by the Jags' defense. As the quarter ended, the Jags' offense is mounting its first serious drive of the game. Stay tuned to see how it ends. --- Allen Wilson
12:55 p.m. --Here are the Bills' inactives: receiver Stevie Johnson, running back Xavier Omon, cornerback Reggie Corner, offensive guard Jason Whittle, offensive tackle Demetrius Bell, tight end Derek Fine and defensive end Chris Ellis. ---Allen Wilson
12:30 p.m. -- In this morning's Jacksonville paper, the featured matchup for today's game was Bills defensive tackle against Jaguars right guard Tutan Reyes. But Reyes isn't even starting. The Jags have decided to go with veteran Milford Brown at right guard. They signed Brown on Tuesday. He started 15 games for St. Louis last year because of injuries to starters.
The Jags are hurting on the offensive line. Backups are also starting at left guard (Uche Nwaneri) and center (Dennis Norman). If Stroud and Co. play the way they did a week ago against Seattle, they'll create tons of pressure on Jags quarterback David Garrard. Look for Garrard to try some quick drops and short throws over the middle against the Bills' linebackers. Seattle had some success with those throws in the opener --- Jerry Sullivan

crow does not taste good!!before the 1st game i posted somewhat anti-trent edwards comments.he is quickly changing my mind.he looks more and more like a veteran qb. his poise and command of the game is something to appreciate.i'm quickly becoming an edwards backer.there are so many impressive things about this bills team.youboty, defense, jackson et al.what stands out the most to me is this teams overall poise and detemination. in years past the bills could have and would have folded in a game like todays.how many of you thought this was a bills loss?i know i was starting to worry.seattle game was a game we were going to win no matter what,so the significance wasn't as big as todays game. on the road, hostile crowd, the heat. so many reasons why it was more important. i, like most expect the home team to win(seattle)but, going on the road and playing intelligently and emerging victorious, hey lets shout!!

The Bills 2-0. I have to give the credit to Trent Edwards. He plays well and reminds me a bit of Troy Aikman. Doesn't put up big fantasy numbers, but knows how to win. I don't think J.P. Losman would have come back once JAX got the lead. Don't count on the Raiders to be chumps. They handed KC their lunch at Arrowhead today and Arrowhead is a tough place to win.

All things considered, this was a great game for the Bills. Even though it was an ugly game and maybe they shouldn't have won, this is the kind of game that we lost to Dallas or Denver last season. I wish they would have opened up the offense a bit earlier, but the defense played very well - they would have had every excuse to allow those 2 FGs in the 3rd qtr (after the onside kick and the fumble) to be TDs with how worn out they looked, but they held on and the offense put up when they needed to. I wish they could post a blowout every week, but a close road win against a solid playoff-caliber team says a lot about the Bills this year. Now it's time for an easier stretch - Oakland, St. Louis and Arizona - 5-0 is a real possibility!!! Let's go Buffalo!!!

Buffalo lost a lot of games in the past with high temps and high humidity- in JAX and Tampa Bay - today they pulled it off to go 2-0! Go Bills!
