After my heart, Mike. After my heart.

Ralph owes us BIG on this one!

FROM SPORTS ILLUSTRATED:

"They chose to make camp on the 29-yard line, which meant the winning kick would have to be 47 yards, into a swirling wind. The kick was wide right. The Bills lost to the Browns by two points. They could have moved the ball closer, if they hadn't run three times into a mob. There was time. A dink pass or two by Trent Edwards and the chances of winning would go up immeasurably. Choosing to make 47 yards their kick of choice was just nuts. Except...except...maybe their confidence in Edwards was so abysmally low, after the miserable game he'd had, that they didn't trust him to throw even one safe short pass without the danger of mishap. He had spent practically the whole fourth quarter frozen in the pocket, even with time, unable to pull the trigger, finally dumping one off to Marshawn Lynch time and again and praying that he make something happen. But then on the critical final drive, guess what? He drilled one down the seam to tight end Robert Royal, zzzzip, 22 yards. Maybe now the kid had his confidence back, maybe now they were in business. For what? Five yards on three runs and wide right. It's just so abysmally sad when they are not given a chance to win."

feb.09...Ralph Wilson to Bills fans....LET ME INTRODUCE THE BILLS HEAD COACH.....BILL COWHER....

How about declaring the week 13 game (SF) as "Brown Bag" day at the "Ralph" then Jauron cud wear one and nobody wud even miss him....

Lets go Toronto Bills!!!!! Bye Bye buffalo

To David-it goes back to my earyer remark-shop for free agnets-NOW-this team cannot build on the draft

Whether it's Trent or J.P., no team can win consistently without a fine QB. The losing streak is all on the Bills' Brain(less) Trust. Even Miami has "Parcell-ed" the Bills into a box. Does anyone realize what the Dolphins were? Now, with Pennington, they can get in the playoffs. It always was a three year deal to get to the playoffs, but it was loaded on the decision to go with Trent Edwards. Ask Lee Evans privately. J.P. needs to go back in and give Edwards time to mentally heal. He's seeing ghosts in the defensive backfield.

In that chat, username "gimmeabreak" typified where I'm at with this team:

"We're between a rock and a hard place. As long as Ralph Wilson owns this team, it'll be in Buffalo. As long as Ralph Wilson owns this team, it'll be mired in mediocrity."

He's exactly right. With Ralph Wilson as our owner, we might never make the playoffs again, but without him, this team is the Toronto or Los Angeles Bills. When teams are perennially bad, you have to start realizing that it starts at the top.

Agree totally with the last drive for a winning FG. Lets throw a great pass down to the the 35 yd line with over a minute left. Let's see if we run the ball 3 times into the middle we can try an easy 47 yd FG into the swirling winds. Why wouldn't we try to get closer and increase the odds of making it. As soon as they ran 3 times I told my wife they would miss the FG. My wife & I enjoyed Dancing with the Stars more after the game. Sorry,Sorry Coaching

I think the most painfull thing was seeing Kelly on the sidelines. Is the past glory all we will ever have?

Even Allen Wilson sounded too depressed to make many insightful comments.

LOL! Wow.. I stand corrected. I thought last weeks game was the worst one ever in 40 years. If Buffalo's biggest draw to the city is chicken wings, it's getting pretty old for all the sportcasters that come with the football scheudule.

Jerry's tweed jacket has got it right--too bad Sully gets paid to write the columns.

I can't post the rest of my comment because it keeps getting flaged as spam, but I could post the 1st paragraph of it. What is up with that?

I would love for one of the News guys to plot the average game temperature vs. Trent Edwards' QB rating for the game. I think it would be enlightening. Trent would tear-up an Indoor Football League!

Trent this and offensive line that - all of us can yell and scream from the rooftops. It simply does not matter. One of the most important points of yesterday came from Roger Goddell's mouth - he made the point that the fans and their support will determine the long term fate of this franchise. No mention of the fact that this city, mired in a tragic economic state including the highest gas prices in America, continue to pack that GD stadium week in and week out. All of this 8 years removed from our last trip to the playoffs. Led by substandard head coaching moves, experimental front office decisions (hey Russ Brandon, where are you during this freefall to the AFC East basement), having home games sent away and the mantra we keep hearing is how good it is for the Bills and that you have to keep supporting the franchise. OK, but when will the franchise start supporting me? When will coaches show some fire and brimstone in their reactions and decision making? When will a QB coach go to their annointed star, who has been throwing more passes parallel to the line of scrimmage than perpendicular, with some different looks and views? When can this franchise stop reading its own press 4 weeks into a season and get its collective head out of its claven? Oh, that's right, my job as a fan is to simply buy the tickets and continue to suck kool-aid out of the trough. The Bills are on the clock - 10 weeks into the season after winning their 1st 4 - effing beautiful!! Maybe they should have run the UB kicker out their to win the game!!

There is no way the Bills should have settled for a 47 yd FG at the end of the game. They had well over a minute to try to kill some clock and get another first down. Despite Edwards play, I would have liked their chances of getting another 10-15 yds instead of kicking that long FG. Lindells FG percentage over 40 yds is not good.

That loss was a total embarassment - Tony Kornheiser said it bes; the Bills franchise has been basically 'irrelevent' the past 8 10 years! No playoffs again; last night was a 'playoff' game and a must-win. There is no excuse for not winning that game, at home, against a 3 - 6 team. Specifically, what is with running three straight times up the middle to 'settle' for a 47 yard FG, into the wind?? A good team would have been aggressive and even tried to score a TD, or at least pick up some more solid yardage........This is just AWFUL

Despite Trent's horrific game, he did enough to put the Bills in position to win. IMO, this loss falls again on the shoulders of the coaching staff. Their wasteful use of timeouts and play calling before the final field attempt was amateurish.
