A punch in the stomach...that's what it's like for Buffalo fans to watch the locals play. Farve/Jets = playoffs...Tell me a quarterback doesn't make a difference. New Coach and a quarterback for Christmas holidays would be great. Maybe next year. LOL
Well well well... I wonder what we should make of Mr. Rogers untimely passing? At that debacle of a news conference he all but said he looked forward to taking the Bills north of the border... permanently (the " you ain't seen nothing yet" comments, the snide anti Buffalo comments, etc.) I wonder if Ralph lost his successor today?
Also - I found it interesting, and soimehow not surprising - the article in the News about how disproportionaely high the arrests of Canadians are at the Ralph - 64% of all arrests are Canadians, compared to the fact that they are 15 - 20 percent of the total fan base. Scanning the "arrest" article each week after home games I was getting that feeling...
Now I've heard everything. A call for the head coaches job. He's not at fault. Let me explain.
First: the offensive coordinator has to stick with the game plan, not pass, pass, pass when the run got you there. We do have a pair of very good running backs.
Second: How many times I have mentioned about Trent Edward's continued aiming his passes? He started the game doing it and continued until he got hurt. His head injury excuse is running very thin. The time is now for him to show he is the answer to our quaterback problem. This is not college, JP Losman got the 4 year college try, we don't need to repeat the 4 year college syndrome.
We then put JP (deer in in the head lights) Losman in the second half. We know what we get from JP, 4 years worth of locking on his primary receiver and holding on to the ball too long.
Finally: We are on our way to building a very good team. Injuries have hurt, but this gave an opportunity to find out what our depth is like, where we need more help to build the championship team Buffalo deserves.
buffalo has a good(not great) starting team, but after those who are starters go down they do not have good replacements. we have had a fair year and if we make the walk up the standings next year we must increase the good players to fill in for those who start. their are a lot of players in the draft that are not first string but can come in if the first teamer is hurt. we need depth on this tear or we will only be a early winner
The Bills have to start looking at quarterbacks who can play in Buffalo weather. The California boys play good in September and early October, but stink up the place for the rest of the season at home games.
Check out Edwards stats for this year and last. It's not lingering effects of the injury, he can't adjust to the change of seasons.
you don't need a new coach, what you need is a new QB who know what to do and not be stupid. look at the new england team, they lost their best QB and still winning game with a rookie QB. that show how good there scouting is and how poorly the bill scouting team is. all they need to do is cut JP and get a Qb like Donovan McNabb. there team have no wide out and still win game. all they have is a runner. it show, w/o a QB your team is nothing. so GET A DAMN QB and not a DAMN defense player
I live in Folsom, Ca. The local media outlets here (Sacramento)cover the 49ers and Raiders. Here is what is being said today in print and over the airwaves...."our coaches did a good job of tipping us off as to what they were going to run on offense....when it would be a run or a pass...particularly when they were in the red zone. They did exactly what we were prepared for."
Heard that lately in Buffalo from your players?
EVERY other team in the league comes up to the line, figures out what the defense intends, and runs a play to counter that. Buffalo does not. Those of you who have DVRS go back and watch as a coach would watch film...the 49ers continuously showed a blitz and backed off into a six man in the box attack...all game long. Why do you think the Bills ran the ball so well...when they actually did run it? Buffalo never did anything to counter that in a sustained way. Not a clue. Edwards has no more of a clue than his coaches. He does not even see what is going on, and admitted as much in his post game comments.
Lynch had one carry in the fourth quarter, in a game they never trailed by more than ten points.
While you are looking at the DVR...try to find the groin pull...you won't. Not so much as a limp or even a wince.
It's too bad. Coming from someone who left Buffalo 24 years ago and still comes all the way back for at least one game every year...(and a few Sabres games as well)and now my son comes with me...very discouraging. I'll have to rethink that one.
A fish rots from the head down...team needs leadership.
i was a fan of trent but he has lost it. jp isnt any better. its time to find a qb. we need to find a dependable multi-talented tight end. its also time to open up the offense. long gone are the days jim kelly called his own plays. jim kelly plz help. even we as arm chair qbs know what play is next. you cant blame the kicker, looked like it was slick. blame the offensive coaches. same lame scheme we had last year and years b4 that. maybe the coaches should play madden 09 for help. the way the offense played, state high school champ orchard park(congrats to all section6)coulda scored more
This was a disgusting loss. If the Browns loss was bad, this was worse. These guys stink, and the coaching staff, save Bobby April and maybe Perry Fewell, is the worst in the NFL. Art Shell would be an upgrade. Norv Turner would be an upgrade. Jauron is awful, and Schoenert is just as lousy a coach as he was a QB. Two weeks ago against Cleveland, they run the ball three times when Crennel (no genius himself) is daring them to get a first down and a more realistic shot at the winning FG. Now, at the two yard line, they throw? After they've beaten the 49ers senseless running it down their throats? Throw TWICE? Are you kidding me? And I won't even get started with clock management. Jauron makes Andy Reid look like the master of clock management. Four more wasted timeouts? That's a total and absolute lack of preparation by the coaching staff. This team has as much talent as Miami or the Jets, but the coaching is killing them. Dick Jauron has never won anything in the NFL, and he will not win here. It's time to fire him, extension be damned, and lure someone like Cowher to Buffalo. These guys have assumed Jauron's personality- annoyingly passive, utterly emotionless. Get a guy like Cowher, or a Parcells protege, someone who's going to light a fire under them. With Jauron at the helm, they'll never compete.
I saw the Bills very first exhibition game in 1960 against the Boston Patriots at the Rock Pile. Been a fan of all Buffalo sports teams. Moved to Florida 30 ago and remained loyal to all the teams but enough is enough.
In all those years, Buffalo basically has produced nothing. Bills 48 years, 4 Super Bowl trips. Sabres, 38 years 2 Stanley Cup shots. Braves gone. Bisons, minor league, OK and priced right.
After Sundays game, that's it. I've seen that too many times in 60+ years. Disappointment after disappointment
I just received this e-mail from the Bills today
" Jet Away with the Bills to New York City! "
You have to be kidding. Can't handle the legitimate heckling I would get. Also face it, whether Ralph lives or not, the Bills are heading North. Too bad, Buffalo fans have deserved better over the years . Buffalo is still a great town but sports are ALL about money today and the money is Buffalos downfall
Watching on TV we cant see if these recievers are covered all the time or not. But I find it unbelievable that they cant find anyone to throw to so often. We need a new big play reciever. It looks like they have given up on Hardy? I say fire Turk Shonert now!
I see a lot of folks on these boards talking about ditching the Bills until Wilson is no longer the owner, but without Wilson, Buffalo doesn't have an NFL team. Boycott the Bills if you want, Wilson is a lousy owner, but you should enjoy them while you still can. When he's gone, the organization will be sold to the highest bidder. It's a sad reality, but that's how it is.
Trent Edwards appears not to have fully recovered from the concussion in the Cardinals game. He looks confused and totally without the confidence he displayed at the beginning of the season. Then the coaching staff never made any adjustments and the Jets ran the very same play and Edwards got dinged again.
Where is the third string quarterback? He looks a heck of a lot better than Losman.
I believe Ralph Wilson is in the early stages of dementia. The proof is in giving Jauron a 5 year extension after the first 5 wins when we were playing teams that were/are not competitive.
Losman is another Rob Johnson! Give the third string quarterback a chance and put Edwards on the bench and let him get it back together. I still think he (Edwards)is an excellent player but needs time to clear the cobwebs.
Ralph has said enough about the future of this team for fans to know the Bills are headed out of Buffalo. He said he wants the team sold when he dies and does not want to leave it to his wife or anyone in his family. Whoever buys it is not going to want to stay in Buffalo's small market. The other owners are not going to want to retain a team in Buffalo when they have to dip into their own pockets to subsidize smaller market teams. Bigger markets mean bigger payouts for national TV. So say goodby. Perhaps it's good that we will not be losing a winner. It's easier to let go of a team that's a league laughing stock.
In my opinion, what is the net effect of mind-numbing losses, ridiculous time mismanagement, ill-suited coaching staffs, divisional rivalry games being played at the Rogers Centre, endless minor league quarterbacking talent, playoff opportunities squandered and upper management that feels that they need not answer to anyone? You have a fan base that is simply disappointed and embarrassed by what it has supported feverishly for nearly a half century. And just as important is this point - we are continuing to pack that stadium and show our support with ABSOLUTELY NO SUCCESSION PLAN IN PLACE WHATSOEVER!!!!
To Ralph Wilson: you have sat in your box looking out over a jam-packed, revenue-generating stadium of fans that have stood by you through a decade of ineptitude - how you can sit there in good conscience and watch folks in a terrible economy continue to pour boatloads of cash into this franchise and not give them a hint as to whether or not there is any long term chance that the Bills will be here one moment beyond your passing is despicable.
Perhaps Jauron's contract extension has some significant strings attached: make the playoffs, get 3 years; have a winning record without the playoffs, 1-2 years; .500, 1 year to make playoffs, or else; losing record, no extension.
Maybe that's why the Bills are keeping it quiet. But whatever the reason, this is the most poorly coached .500 team in the NFL. Disorganized, confused, unprepared, questionable play calling... It's the unwatchable Donahoe/Mularkey Era all over again.
after 35 years of dedicating my time and money to this team, I think it's time to move on. Ralph Wilson has finally proven to me how incapible and clueless he is at managing and owning an NFL franchisee. The Bills are the laughing stock of the league these days and the owner still does nothing about it (again) Save your money Bills fans, its not worth it anymore
We need to start all over with first moving the team from orchard park to downtown Buffalo. Second Ralph Wilson needs to sell the team to new blood with new ideas and engery. Third fired Dick Juron and coaching staff we need new direction. Fourth we need a quarterback who can play in cold weather stop with the west coast and down south qbs weather plays a big part from were we live. Bring back some of the old vets to coach or assist or just to be around the team we need that swagger back
This long-time die-hard fan is giving up the ghost. Though I moved to Nashville TN years ago to escape Buffalo's bleak economy, I remained an ardent Buffalo fan. As the city's downward slide continues, it engulfs even its sports teams. TORONTO? WIDE LEFT 2X. Titans look pretty good.
A punch in the stomach...that's what it's like for Buffalo fans to watch the locals play. Farve/Jets = playoffs...Tell me a quarterback doesn't make a difference. New Coach and a quarterback for Christmas holidays would be great. Maybe next year. LOL
