Jones stays with the Bears

To coin a fishing phrase, the Bills let another one get off the hook when running back Kevin Jones signed a contract to stay with the Chicago Bears. According to league sources, Jones got a two-year deal worth $3.5 million. He'll receive a $1 million signing bonus and is guaranteed to make $2 million in the first year of the deal. That is an inexpensive contract, and one the Bills could easily afford. My guess is Jones figured he'd get on the field more as Matt Forte's backup in Chicago than splitting minutes and touches with Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson in Buffalo. DeShaun Foster is still under consideration by the Bills but he doesn't have as much upside or versatility as Jones.
