Louisville's Wood
The Bills selected Eric Wood, a player regarded as one of the smartest in college football, with their second pick at No. 28. Wood is 6-4 and 309 pounds. He played center in college but the Bills intend to play him at guard to start his career.
The Bills entered the draft needing to bolster their offensive line after trading tackle Jason Peters to Philadelphia. Buffalo signed center Geoff Hangartner in free agency from Carolina.
The fourth best offensive tackle, Eben Britton of Arizona, still was on the board at No. 28.

Talking points for the Bills press conference on the players they've drafted:
"He has a lot of versatility," said *fill in name of a Bills official*. We project him now shifting to *fill in position* with the Bills. We will have him bulk up to about *fill in weight* pounds.
"Thanks for coming to our news conference, see you in Dec. when we miss the palyoffs."
"Goodbye."

I see Wood as our starting LG and can move over to C in the event of an injury or something to Hangartner

Wood was rated ABOVE Britton!! Did we need a tackle...sure. But, we needed a STUD lineman PERIOD...and we got one with wood. Britton was a question mark, rated as only the 6th or 7th best offensive tackle. We got a STUD who will anchor this offensive line as the next Kent Hull that fans have been BEGGING the Bills to find for YEARS. Well folks, they got him. I doubt after training camp and preseason he's still backing up Hangartner. It'll be the other way around.

Didn't these bumbling fools just overpay for the Panther's backup center in free agency! So they traded Peters for a back up center! Great move! At least he will save Ralph $7-8M per year and that is all that counts at One Goat's Drive! (Good one Roy.)

need a tackle? draft a center. need a LB? draft a corner. that's how we do it a Twit Central, otherwise known as One Goat's Drive.

Sorry to say that the BN's draft coverage today is VERY weak and its cursory approach is more than a bit surprising.

Wood + Beatty would have been nice.
Britton + Unger would have been better.
Wood + a CB???????
