What could have been

Miami -- The Bills were terrorized by a pass rusher on Sunday that they could have had on their roster. Cameron Wake was a star defensive end in the Canadian Football League, but decided to take his pass-rushing talent to the NFL. The Bills were among the teams that brought him in for a workout and were impressed by what they saw.

But Wake left Buffalo without a contract and ended up signing with the Dolphins. After watching him register three sacks on Bills quarterback Trent Edwards, perhaps the Bills should have been more proactive in trying to acquire Wake.

The Bills took a pass and drafted Aaron Maybin with the 11th overall pick. Maybin probably has more upside than Wake. But on Sunday, the 27-year-old Wake showed that he is more ready to make an impact than the Bills' hotshot rookie.
