Whitner may avoid criminal record
Bills safety Donte Whitner can avoid a criminal record if he completes an intervention program, according to an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Judge Angela Stokes placed Whitner in the program Monday, a day before he was to have a scheduled hearing in Cleveland Municipal Court to face charges of aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest stemming from an incident April 11 at the House of Blues in Cleveland.
Whitner was stunned with a taser after a fight broke out at the birthday party for Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Whitner and Ginn were high school and college teammates.
Lt. Thomas Saco told the Plain Dealer Whitner pushed officers who tried to restrain him and took a "fighting stance."
Whitner is due back in court Jan. 26.

Hopefully this fool will not be around next year and if we are lucky he will join Mauron as being anywhere but in Buffalo!

Was his "fighting stance" the same one he took against Sammy Morris last year? If I remember correctly, Morris knocked him out cold.

Whitner is all talk and hype, no action, makes bone headed plays, and misses his assignments. I don't miss him at all. Whitner= another Bills Bust. Can we get a 6th or 7th round pick for that wasted 1st rounder? Should have drafted OL Orher at the time. Take a fighting stance with the police..lol he's another dumb punk that's running rampant in the NFL. Ohio is just condoning this type of behavior with rich NFL millionaires. Put his butt in Jail on Jan 26th and throw away the key. Hey Cali, Lynch needs to be put away also.

Lock him up! It will free up a roster spot. Byrd's the better player.

Of course this is a miscarriage of justice. But more important than that is that such judicial rulings condone and reinforce unacceptable behavior. I guess that psychologists would label this "enabling".
I hope that I'm wrong, but I predict that this enabling will do more harm than good for society as a whole, and as an extension of this, that this will not be Whitner's last brush with the law.
Additionally, I'm no fan of that Limbaugh, but I do find it curious that his application for ownership of an NFL team was rejected because "Limbaugh's values were not consistent with the NFL's values".
The hypocrisy of this becomes crystal clear if we examine the list of active NFL players who have been involved with crimes. What a load of baloney!!!!!
Values, don't make me laugh....the only thing that the NFL values is the money that it makes off of basically naive players, and from the stupid fans (of which I am one) who support this League by our attendance at games!
