Byrd waiting until next week

Bills rookie safety Jairus Byrd said he will know more about his sore groin and hernia area next week.

Byrd visited a specialist in Philadelphia on Monday in what coach Dick Jauron said was a previously scheduled checkup on his abdomen. Byrd underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia in July. Byrd has been feeling some discomfort in the area and has had a sore groin the past couple weeks.

"I'm feeling all right; I'll be fine," Byrd said Tuesday in the locker room. "It’s been a couple weeks that it’s been nagging at me. The trainers have done a good job getting me through and prepared to go to games. I'm excited we have a bye week so I can try to get healthy and get back on track."

Byrd, who has seven interceptions already this season, did not want to get specific about what the specialist did.

"I won’t go into detail," he said. "He did something and we’ll see how it goes. They’ve kind of said sometimes you get scar tissue built up in there. It could be a lot of things. From what he did, well know more about how I react and what's going on as far as pain next week."

Does Byrd think he could miss some games?

"I wouldn’t go that far," he said. "We’ll see. Next week we’ll know more."

Personnel decisions and poor draft choices continuely hurt the bills. Their O-line is terrible which makes Edwards even worse, he isn't exactly quick to begin with and this just makes it alot worse. It hurts their running game as well but so does the fact that they use Lynch. Jackson should be their featured back absolutely. I want to slap Lynch everytime I watch him studder step when no one is there just to get tackles by a group of people at or behind the line of scrimmage.
I love the Bills but I have no idea what the thought process is, Jackson is clearly better and deserves the right to replace Lynch as the feature back, Lynch basically looks fat and slow on every play....

That being said Byrd is definitely the best play maker on the team, I love watching him play, he has to be ok to play because he is one of the few bright spots on the team. him and Jackson who spends way to much time on the sidelines!

They cannot lose Byrd for any length of time in my opinion. He is already the best defensive playmaker the Bills have. I don't want to see this becoming a lingering problem for him. Even during a dismal season, he has been a bright spot for this team.

Now getting to the article. You have DE's the size of LB's. LB'S the size of safties and 300 lb O-linemen running all over them at will. It's no wonder your DB's are staying hurt. Your playing against running back that are bigger than most of your team and asking your small DB's to stop them!! "Good Luck"

I disagree with those that are bashing Lynch. Put the blame where it belongs. The worse the o-line gets the worse the running backs, quarterbacks and receivers look. No holes for them to run through and no time for the QB,s to find receivers. The Bills problems started with poor personel decisions, no need to make it worse. The money used to extend the coach and sign TO should have been used to sign their Tackles. Two rookie guards, two rookie tackles and a Carolina Panthers back up Center = no leadership and worse line in the league

Help is on the way. When Bill Cowher comes to town during a bye week, it could only mean good things for Bills fans! He's at One Bills Drive right now!

Lynch runs faster than he thinks. Which isn't saying much, really. But he doesn't wait for blocks & holes the way Fred Jackson does. Lynch just runs as fast as he can to a pile of guys, then gains a yard or two by going through them. It's clear that Jackson is better, and he's better as the featured back. Not the same since Lynch came back.

Lynch stutter steps when there is nothing in front of him but open space.

Byrd and G. Wilson have been bright spots, it's just a shame there haven't been any significant contributors on the offensive side of the ball.

The Bills should deal Bust Mode (Lynch) and let Fred Jackson do his thing as the feature RB. Bust Mode brings nothing to the table.
