More on DT Harvey

Coach Perry Fewell was asked about the defensive tackle signed to the practice squad this week, Lonnie Harvey. He's a rookie from Morgan State, and he's listed at 342 pounds.

"Three-fifty," Fewell said with a laugh after practice.

“I like him because he’s a big man and when we try to knock him off the ball, it’s real tough to knock him off the ball," Fewell said. "Be it 3-4 or 4-3, he can take up two blockers, and I really like that."

"It definitely helps the offense to practice against a guy with that size and that girth," Fewell said. "We go against those guys in New England and etcetera, so it helps us all around.”

Agree completely about the midgets! Ryan Denney looks like he should be playing safety. Then their 1st round pick is a 250 lb DE???
Pat Williams and Sam Adams made the best defensive line the Bills have had, they had a few pounds on them, and played the 4-3

How much will this kid be able to assist the Bills this season? This season will end with no postseason for the 10th consecutive season. Maybe he is someone that will be part of the next administration, hopefully. I do like his size. The Bills have been a smallish team for so long. If indeed he has the ability to take on multiple blockers, then it should open up opportunities for better LBs to make plays. No doubt the linebacking corps for this team needs to be overhauled in the worst way.

Interesting comment.

Maybe Fewell disagreed with Mauron in terms of employing a defense full of midgets! The Ills front 7 (except Stroud) could be the smallest in the NFL and probably smaller than just about every team in the SEC!
