It will be a crash course in the Buffalo Bills' offense for newly signed veteran guard Kendall Simmons.
He's scheduled to start at right guard Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Simmons was signed as a free agent on Tuesday. He was released by New England on Nov. 9 after spending the first half of the season as a backup with the Pats.
The Bills' offensive line for Sunday: LT Jonathan Scott, LG Andy Levitre, C Geoff Hangartner, RG Kendall Simmons, RT Kirk Chambers.
Said Hangartner: "He's a really smart football player. He's played a lot in this league. He's run all the plays we've got, he's just called them something different. The biggest thing for him is just translating the terminology over from what we call it to what he knows. His head might be spinning a little bit, just from trying to figure it out in this short period of time. But he's a smart guy, and we'll definitely try to help him out as much as we can and communicate with him as much as possible."
Simmons started 46 of 48 games for Pittsburgh from 2005 to 2007. He ruptured an Achilles tendon in the fourth game of the 2008 season.
