Thanx to all those that hung around for our BillsLive chat. Huge high-fives to the versatile duo of Joe-NYC and Heather B. for their shepherding of the chat in the wake of the technological stupor the Rogers Centre left Sully and I in.
Imagine that. The building named after a massive communications company can't build an Internet system to house a full house. Embarrassment on their part. The system floundered as soon as 8 p.m. rolled around, when the NFL Network signed on the air and the crowd filled the building. Game ended, crowd left, TV network signed off and everything was fine. In Twitter speak, epicfail.
Nice pregame party, Rogers. Ridiculous mudbog. You can put 300 Hooters girls in there -- like it seemed you did -- and it won't matter.
Nice attendance figure of 0 listed on the official stat sheets. No coverup needed. There were at least 45,000 fannies in seats, if not more.
The Bills in Toronto Series makes money for the team and helps regionalize the franchise. No question. The team gets its money, comes to play the game and goes home. The crowd was more into the game this year, largely because the Bills played better.
But the folks here turn it into an organizational boondoggle that shows they're far below NFL caliber. They should be embarrassed.
