Five years ago, Charlie Weis was one of the hottest head-coaching prospects in football. He was headed to his second straight Super Bowl appearance as the play-caller for the New England Patriots. He was very interested in becoming head coach of the Buffalo Bills and, in fact, interviewed for the job. But Bills President Tom Donahoe found someone he liked a bit better, Mike Mularkey, and Donohoe also did not want to wait until the beginning of February (after the Super Bowl) to hire Weis and then get the last choices dor assistant coaches.
Now Weis is available, having been fired by Notre Dame. He's a good offensive coach. He's from the Bill Parcells coaching tree. He was a failure at Notre Dame.Gaughan
