Riverside product Mike Williams, the former Syracuse receiver, is preparing for the NFL draft at the Athletes' Performance Institute in Pensacola, Fla. Williams is sure to be drafted, given his prototypical size - 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds. The question will be how much his stock is affected by the fact he had a falling out with Syracuse coach Doug Marrone that ended his season after seven games this year. Williams had 49 catches for 746 yards and six TDs through seven games. Williams has signed with veteran agent Hadley Engelhard, who is based in Atlanta. While it was reported Williams quit the team, Engelhard said Williams was kicked off the team. Williams sat out the 2008 season due to poor grades but was able to shore up his academics and re-enrolled at Syracuse in 2009. With a good offseason and combine performance, he could significantly boost his draft stock.
