Bills General Manager Buddy Nix and head coach Chan Gailey spoke to a group of about 450 suite holders and premium-seat buyers at a breakfast today at the Adams Mark Hotel in Buffalo. There were no revelations on what the Bills plan to do in the draft or other personnel matters. Here were a couple Nix quotes:
Said Nix: “We believe that the way you build a football team is by putting as many good players as you can, stack ‘em on top of each other and let ‘em compete. If we’ve got guys that are worried about their feelings and their ego and they think they’re established and they don’t want competition, then they’re in the wrong place and in the wrong game. I don’t worry again about their feelings. I get mine hurt every day and nobody cares. I go home and complain and my wife don’t care.”
And: "People ask me why should we believe this is gonna be any different? Talk is cheap; we all know that. It’s like I’ve always said, don’t tell me about the labor pains, just show me the baby. That’s what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to show you the baby, and the baby is winning."
