Romo at Pebble?

It's pretty cool that Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is such a great athlete that he advanced through the first stage of qualifying for the U.S. Open golf championship, to be held in June at Pebble Beach. Romo shot 69 and made it through a playoff (four guys vied for three spots) to get to the sectional round. There will be 13 sectional qualifiers around the country in the next couple of weeks, where typically 80 or 90 players vie for three or four spots in the big event. Romo was one of the best football players, basketball players and golfers in the state of Wisconsin when he was in high school. ... Elsewhere, Jerry Rice shot 82-90 at a Nationwide Tour event last week and said he was quitting his bid to be a pro golfer. (He also was DQ'd becuase his caddy used a range-finder to get a distance.)
