Williamsville native Rob Gronkowski won't be a training camp holdout after agreeing to a contract with the New England Patriots on Sunday, which was the reporting day for the team's rookies. According to the Boston Herald, Gronkowski got a four-year deal worth $4.44 million. The tight end is expected to receive a reported $1.76 million signing bonus and one-time incentive based on minimum playing time worth $830,000.
Gronkowski, a second-round draft pick and 42nd overall selection, is expected to become a favorite receiving target of quarterback Tom Brady. In two seasons at Arizona, Gronkowski had 75 catches for 1,197 yards and 16 touchdowns. He didn't play last year due to back surgery.
