Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel said Tuesday evening he's still not sure if he wants to play this season, but he's thinking harder about coming back to the Bills as the opening of training camp nears.
"I'm leaning more toward playing than I was a month ago," Schobel told The News by phone from his home in Texas. (Channel 7 talked to Schobel earlier Tuesday.) "I don't know what the Bills would do or how much time they would give me (to make a decision) but I'm thinking about it."
On June 10, Schobel said he was probably done, saying, "At this point, I don't think that I'm going to play." But the nine-year veteran and two-time Pro Bowler also refused to close the door on returning at that time. He's still not sure what he plans to do.
"I'm going to try to make a decision in the next 10 days," Schobel said Tuesday evening. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to report in 10 days." Schobel said he has been staying in good enough shape to give himself the chance to come back for a 10th season should he try to do so. "I've been working out some so that I can make a realistic decision," he said.
