Bills add TE Martin, G Urbin; sign Roosevelt to practice squad

It was suspected after the Bills made their final cuts on Saturday that more roster moves could be made before the season opener.

That proved true Sunday, as the Bills signed free agent tight end David Martin and claimed guard Kraig Urbik off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers. To make room for Martin and Urbik, tight end J.P. Foschi and defensive back Dominique Harris were released.

Martin spent the 2007-08 seasons with Miami after six years with Green Bay. He's recorded 152 catches for 1,519 yards and 14 touchdowns in 101 career games.

Urbik was with the Steelers in 2009, but was inactive every game. He's a huge man at 6-foot-5 and 323 pounds and was a third-round pick of the Steelers in 2009. He had a ton of experience in college, starting 50 games for Wisconsin and earning All-Big Ten Conference honors in 2007 and 2008.

Four players were also added to the team's practice squad, including local product Naaman Roosevelt. Others signed to the squad were fullback Rodney Ferguson, tackle Jason Watkins and running back Joique Bell.

Teams can carry up to eight players on the practice squad.
