Jets coach Rex Ryan hedged when asked if quarterback Mark Sanchez will play Sunday against the Bills. Ryan said he's leaning toward having Sanchez play some in the game. But it sure sounds like Sanchez won't go a long way if he does play. The Jets' next two QBs are Mark Brunell and Kellen Clemens. Ryan said they would enter the game in that order in relief of Sanchez --- presuming Sanchez starts.
Said Rex: "You want to do the smart thing. With our quarterback in particular, he’s rolling pretty good lately. I want him to make sure he has his routine in place, but also don’t want him to get hurt. There’s a fine line. We’re working through it. I’m kinda leaning on him playing. How much he plays I’m not sure."
Sanchez has been dealing with a sore shoulder the past month or so.
Is Sanchez 100 percent? "I wouldn’t say that. He’s kinda beat up, just like he was last week at this time. He’ll be limited in practice this week. As the week went on last week he was great. It’s two weeks in a row that he’s finished (the game), that he’s played every snap. He’s been zipping the ball pretty good. But clearly if we think he’s not at or near 100 percent he won’t play. But I think theres a good chance he will be."
Bottom line: The BIlls have at least a slightly better chance to win this game than under normal circumstances.
