Fitz a game-day decision

Bills coach Chan Gailey would not rule out Ryan Fitzpatrick from Sunday's game in New York, but Brian Brohm took the snaps as the starting quarterback in Friday's practice.

"We're gonna list him as questionable going into the game," Gailey said of Fitzpatrick. "If he can get ready, then we'll have him out there."

Fitzpatrick has a sore knee and did not take any snaps in practice this week.

Fitzpatrick, however, said he's holding out hope he can play. He said if he feels good on Sunday, he's definitely playing.

“I feel OK," Fitzpatrick told reporters after undergoing about an hour of treatment with the team's trainers. "I have done the walk-throughs this week, but haven’t done a whole lot other than that. I’ve been throwing the ball around. It’ll be a game-day decision."

"I’ve gotten better every day," Fitzpatrick said. "Monday was not great. I’ve made strides every day."

Fitzpatrick acknowledged he needs to have good escapability to face the Jets.

"I think the biggest thing is just not being helpless back there and getting yourself in a situation where you can’t move," Fitzpatrick said. "It doesn’t help you to be out there because you can’t move. We’ll take a look at it and I’ll get some more treatment. We’ve got over 40 hours to kind of heal it up."

The Bills are expected to be without receiver Donald Jones due to the blow to the head he took in the game against New England last week. That leaves just three healthy wide receivers: Steve Johnson, Naaman Roosevelt and Paul Hubbard, who has not played a down this season. The Bills could promote Rod Windsor from the practice squad.

"Possibly we might make a move before the game," Gailey said. "If we don't, we'll go with what we've got."

Center Geoff Hangartner was limited in practice due to the knee injury that has kept him out of the lineup the past three games. Gailey said he's "ready to go" but would not say if he would start. It's believed Eric Wood will start the game at center.
