The Road to the Draft: OLB Jabaal Sheard

THE ROAD TO THE DRAFT

Jabaal Sheard, OLB, Pittsburgh
6-foot-3, 264 pounds.
Draft projection: Second round.

Lowdown: A college defensive end who projects as a 3-4 outside linebacker. He had a fine senior season, taking over as Pitt’s main pass rusher for Greg Romeus, who was hurt most of the year. Sheard had nine sacks as a senior, five as a junior and 5.5 as a sophomore. He had 14.5 tackles for loss as a senior. He has quickness and plays with some power, too. He has long arms. Can he adjust to linebacker? He was arrested in July following an altercation outside a bar but coach Dave Wannstedt stood by him. Sheard served a two-week suspension but did not miss any games. A shoulder injury kept him out of Pitt's bowl game and the Senior Bowl. If Sheard is on the board at No. 34, the Bills may strongly consider him.]
