The Road to the Draft: QB Pat Devlin

Pat Devlin, QB, Delaware
6-foot-3, 226 pounds
Draft projection: Fifth or sixth rounds.

Lowdown: Devlin started his career at Penn State but transferred after his sophomore year because he was stuck behind Darryl Clark. He led Delaware to the FCS championship game in 2010. The comparisons to Delaware product Joe Flacco are inevitable, since Flacco transferred to Delaware from Pitt after two years and also took the Blue Hens to the FCS final. However, Flacco is a much better physical specimen, at 6-6 and with a cannon arm. Devlin played in a quarterback-friendly spread offense and has good accuracy. But he has only adequate arm strength. He didn’t look like a special talent when he was at Penn State.
