Bills special teams great Steve Tasker still has a block of support as a candidate for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tasker was among 26 modern-era candidates named earlier this week as semifinalists for the Class of 2012. It was the third time in the last four years and the fifth time overall that Tasker advanced to the top semifinalist list. Tasker did not make the semifinal list last year. Tasker is the only special teams player to make the final 26. There is only one special teams player in the Hall of Fame, Kansas City kicker Jan Stenerud.
Bills all-time great receiver Andre Reed is among the semifinalists once again. Reed has been among the final 15 six straight years and each of the past two years has advanced to the final 10 in the selection process. The 25 semifinalists will be whittled down to 15 modern finalists, a list that will be announced in early January.
