Famous Actor Gets His Hair Cut At Local Supercuts

Denise, the superb stylist at Supercuts on Sheridan and Eggert, told Buzz the other day that she has cut Stephen Henderson's hair.

She confirmed that yes, he goes to Supercuts! We knew there was something we liked about him.

Henderson looks happy with his haircut.

Supercuts of the rich and famous!

Buffalo School Wins Inaugural Air Conditioning Award

Buffalo being the birthplace of air conditioning, let us toast this hot afternoon by conferring an award that shall surely turn out to be the first in a long and distinguished series.

It is an award for prominent and strategically placed window air conditioner!

With pride we present our first awardee.

2013-5-22 st. mary's 016

This is, of course, St. Mary's School For the Deaf.

It is possible we are starting at the top. St. Mary's sets the bar very high. The building is stately, beautiful and architecturally significant. It boasts several prominent window air conditioners but the one that really nets the school the award is the one perfectly, gloriously located, right over the cross placed over the grand front entrance.

Congratulations, St. Mary's School For The Deaf!

Very, very cool!

Dapper Young Man Sports Ultimate Prom Outfit

2013-5-17 kilt

Western New York's high school proms get better and better! Seen last night at the Statler, a kilt.

An actual kilt! Such as Prince Charles or Buzz's favorite royal, Prince Philip, might wear.

The young man confident enough to sport this fashion with aplomb: James Nash, of Attica High School, whose prom was being held at the Statler, along with Cardinal O'Haras. Mr. Nash says his background is Scottish and we believe him. His date is Kara Manzanares of Orchard Park.

Fashion kudos to them both.

Also... love the sneakers.

Local High School's Prom Heard 'Round the World

2013-5-11 prom

At the Statler on Friday, Buzz stood agog beholding Depew High School's prom. The kids were gathering in the Terrace Room.

The boys, as usual, were fun to observe. There is always one with a Mohawk haircut, you know? And a friend remarked: "You can always tell the guys who haven't worn a suit since their First Communion."

But the girls!

These girls were better coiffed than Buzz was at our own wedding!

We could not get over how beautiful they looked, how gorgeously turned out they were. Above, left to right: Jennifer Groblewski, Chloe Beach, Angela Fronckowiak.

One friend in Oregon comments on Facebook: "I can hear the dresses."

The Most Hardworking Man in Buffalo Show Business

Lance

Unforgettable, this notice for Lance Diamond at Milkie's, the old Elmwood Lounge. Let us cut and paste:

CAN YOU SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT!!!!! THEN COME OUT TO MILKYS ON ELMWOOD THIS SATURDAY NIGHT APRIL 27th FOR A PARTY WITH LANCE DIAMOND AND HIS 24K DIAMOND BAND. 522 ELMWOOD AVE, BUFFALO NY . AND REMEMBER LANCE GOES TILL 9 IN THE MORNING. 11pm SHOW TIME, $5.00 at the DOOR....

God love you, Lance, for sticking to that 11 p.m. start time after all these years! One gal we know who used to live in an apartment next door said you could set your clock by what time he went on, and what time he sang "Brick House."

And remember, Lance goes till 9 in the morning!

A Dry Cleaner's Dry Wit

You would not think we would be able to top that sign seen on Kenmore Avenue last week.

However... this being Buffalo, we have!

Cold weather comfort: We feel better already

Strong and effective therapy for this unseasonably, unreasonably cold first day of spring: the fashions at Terrapin Station.

Terrapin1

That will be Buzz as soon as it warms up just a little!

There is also this cute skirt.

Terrapin2

Buzz appreciates how they use the same shoes for both outfits. That is the Grateful Dead way, what the heck.

To complete your therapy may we suggest this:

The weirdness o' the weekend

Quick, which image is more hallucinogenic?

This one, snapped by Buzz's colleague Charlie Lewis at the St. Patrick's Day Parade?

Stpat

Or this one ...

He's the Jolly Green Giant! He's a walking Dollar Tree! He's ....

2013-2-15 009

Holiday Man! Remember him? When The News' Anne Neville caught up with him in December, he was all decked out as a Christmas tree. Now he is painting the town green.

We were sent this rare snapshot of Holiday Man, whose real name is Bob Zeagler, posing with Mark Redlinski of Redlinski Meats.

May we direct your attention to the heart-shaped sign over his shoulder: "Always ... Free Hugs & Gravy!"

Gotta love Redlinski Meats.

Gotta love Buffalo!!

Wigged out at the Statler

Wig

"Linked Up," the singles mixer over the weekend at the Statler, looked like fun. Of course they never had this kind of thing when Buzz was single! We peeked in and everyone was dancing the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle. "Do that stuff!" a deejay shouted.

We hear they had an event like this at the Hyatt not too long ago and it drew an immense crowd.

The best thing at the Statler mixer was the Linked Up Photo Booth. You decked yourself out in a variety of costume props like wigs and funny hats and then you ducked inside to get your picture taken. And people could watch you from the outside. Ha, ha!

Buzz posed with Howard, the guy we married, for that masterful picture up above.

However. Looking at the costume props, we were puzzled. One of these things was not like the others, one of these things just didn't belong.

Since when is a Bills cap weird attire?

How is anyone supposed to "link up" without one?
