Congrats from Senator Clinton
Below is a statement released from the office of New York senator Hillary Rodham Clinton congratulating UB on winning the MAC championship Friday night:
"I’d like to congratulate coach Turner Gill, quarterback Drew Willy, and the entire Bulls football team at University at Buffalo on their historic win over Ball State last night.
In only his third year at UB, Coach Gill took his team to the Mid-American Conference Championship game in Detroit to face the undefeated and heavily favored 12th ranked Cardinals of Ball State, who were in the midst of their own remarkable season. The Bulls overcame the odds, the offense made big plays when they had to, and the defense forced several key turnovers to give UB their first ever conference championship in school history.
These young men played with heart and won with class, and have shown us the best of the collegiate spirit of competition and sportsmanship. Best of luck to Coach Gill and the new MAC Champion Buffalo Bulls in their upcoming game in the International Bowl, you’ve earned it and have already made the City of Buffalo and the State of New York very proud.”
