Bulls injury report
The Bulls' injury report is still quite lengthy leading up to next Tuesday's game against Ohio.
Junior defensive end Jerry Housey (knee) is out 2-4 weeks, while sophomore cornerback Joe Petit (concussion) doubtful. Senior tailback Mario Henry (ankle), true freshman tailback Jeffvon Gill (shoulder) and junior defensive end Bruno Lapointe (ankle, knee) are probable, while junior tailback Ike Nduka (ankle) is questionable.

15,707. Attendance at the Carrier Dome tonight as the Cuse broke out early. Boeheim played only 7 in the first half, while Albany went 11 deep in rotation.
Listen to the Syracuse announcers, talking about the Great Danes (went 15-16 last year) as a mid to low Mid-Major. Pre-season, the Orange are figured fourth in the Big East. Not bad for our Empire State representative at a national level. Syracuse set the bar high for all other Empire State schools, now at 1-0, and Robert Morris (Pa) next before going to the Garden.
Boeheim is The Man of college coaches here.

I am quite certain Syracuse started taking that game against LeMoyne very seriously once they realized it was going to be a contest.
There's nothing worse than a DII team beating a DI team, unless it's a DIII team (look out UB against Buff State).

I'm sure Dol-phans will now believe that. Last I read it was akin to the Globetrotters versus Washington Generals, and the Generals won. Label on tickets: For exhibition purposes only.

David, the battle for the best of the city of Syracuse was settled by LeMoyne last week...

Gonna add this because Syracuse coverage is missing.
Tonight opens D1 basketball with Albany at Syracuse, in a New York State special clash. The Orange still have Andy Rautins to fire away, and have Arinze Onuaku and Rick Jackson as a tough frontcourt duo. Backcourt is the question without Jonny Flynn.
The Great Danes have seven letter winners, including Will Harris, who had transferred in from Virginia.
The battle for best of the Empire State begins.

Like it says, first you have to ask. But not hat in hand.
There are requirements. Some say it's a bad time, but there's no time like the present. UB plays Uconn, Pitt, Syracuse at times. The rivalries are a natural, including Rutgers. I'm sure it's been thought about, and even favored behind the scenes. Timing is everything. If the BCS can't be broken up, then go to the BCS. It's also why every game now is important, losing season or not. Ohio Bobcats here Tuesday. Frank Solich. It's about building a program, at the same time as playing the games. Navy took down Notre Dame today and deservedly. The Middies also played Ohio State tough.
UB did beat Army last year.
Injuries caused some young players to have to be used. The work will get them readier for next year.

I'd love to see UB in the Big East, but does the Big East want UB?
And is UB committed enough to make the jump?
The Big East could benefit from adding Buffalo as a market, and boy would it be fun to bring in real big-name programs for both football and basketball on an annual basis. I've heard nothing reported that indicates that the Big East would want UB, though.

It's become big news today. The date: September 3, 2011.
Boise State has offered to play any major program, in their stadium, no return date needed. And, no takers.
ESPN is assisting, and again, no takers.
Boise State wins yesterday, and falls in the "BCS" standings. Major conference representatives say, "They should play our schedule." Again, no takers.
Is there any more reason for Buffalo to bolt the MAC to go Big East? Unless a real playoff system is installed in the FBD, the pigskin ceiling is in place. Personally, I don't watch BCS bowl games. I switch to basketball. Mythical titles mean nothing to me. But UB should learn from Boise State. Get thee to a BCS conference.
