Canisius vs. Fairfield

ALBANY -- We're approaching tipoff between Canisius and Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament quarterfinals at the Times Union Center. Canisius hasn't won a quarterfinal game in the tournament in eight years. Fairfield beat the Griffs twice during the regular season, 58-52 and 76-74.

Siena, the defending champion and first seed, advanced to Sunday's semifinals with a 78-61 victory over Manhattan today. Manhattan led at halftime, 40-36, but the Saints limited the Jaspers to 6-for-23 shooting in the second half and took control of the game. The win gave Siena 36 straight on its home floor, the second-longest homecourt win streak in the country.

Siena meets Rider in Sunday's semifinals. Rider beat St. Peter's earlier today in the 4-5 game.

Niagara, the sixth seed, faces third-seeded Iona after the Cansius game in the day's final quarterfinal matchup.
