Manigat gives verbal commitment to Canisius

Canadian guard Jahenns Manigat has given Canisius College a verbal commitment, a source said Monday night.

The 6-foot-2 Manigat, who can play both point and shooting guard, made an official visit to the campus last week. He hails from Regional Elite Development Academy (REDA) in Hamilton and is originally from Ottawa. He’s thin but has long arms and can shoot it from beyond the three-point arc but more importantly, he provides much-needed backcourt depth. Manigat was also considering Maine.

Canisius has one more scholarship to give.
