Quinn still believes in Oliver

Oliver Rhode Island ---The team's leading rusher, Branden Oliver, pictured right, has rushed for 173 yards and is averaging just 2.7 yards a carry, but UB coach Jeff Quinn said the redshirt freshman is sound in other aspects like his alignments and blocking.

---Eastern Michigan ventured into Ohio State last week and left with a school record for points allowed, leaving coach Ron English with a career record of 0-16. Still, English has the support of AD Derrick Gragg.

---For the first time this season, no member of the eight-team Big East can be found among the Top 25 in either poll. A program that could boost the league's stock is unbeaten TCU.

---In college hoops, Kentucky's John Calipari was never at any time linked to either investigation at UMass or Memphis, but that has not stopped media, who are suspicious of his methods, of judging him harshly - and in many cases - vilifying him.
