---Ball State, UB's opponent this week, beat winless Akron on Saturday in an odd game. The Bulls, who are 1-7 against the spread this season, is a three-point favorite at home.

---Michael Wilbon writes with essentially three weeks left in the regular college football season there apparently is nothing TCU and Boise State can do to play for the national championship. The cartel has slammed the door on them again.
