Sophomore Jerry Davis moves back into the starting lineup at QB and will be backed up by Alex Dennison when the Bulls host Eastern Michigan on Saturday, UB coach Jeff Quinn announced this morning.
Davis takes over the starting role after true freshman Alex Zordich suffered a season-ending injury during the Bulls' loss last Friday night against Ball State. Zordich suffered a broken rib following a long run.
Davis started the first six games of the season but was benched in part because of his high-turnover rate. He beat out Dennison for the job during training camp and Dennison was eventually moved to tight end and Zordich elevated to second string. Dennison has played well on special teams, he made two solo tackles during the Ball State game, but will probably shift back to quarterback for the team's final two games.
Quinn said he didn't feel comfortable playing true freshmen Rudy Johnson or Tyler Warden, a walk-on, with just two games remaining.
