Eastern Michigan-UB game analysis

Game analysis: Jerry Davis’ Hail Mary attempt sailed out of bounds as time expired, and UB lost to Eastern Michigan, 21-17, its sixth consecutive setback this season.

How UB lost: The Bulls have been solid against the run but not against Eastern Michigan. Eastern Michigan’s Dwayne Priest ran over the Bulls’ defense like a young Priest Holmes to the tune of 192 yards and a 5.5 yard per carry average. The defense was good on third down (4 of 13) but not on fourth (3-for-3).

Turning Point: On 1st and 10 from the Bulls 40, Priest broke loose for a 38-yard gain to the 2-yard line and scored two plays later to give Eastern Michigan a 21-10 lead.

Player of the game: Priest came into the game with 465 yards on the season. He now has 657.

Stat of the game: Can’t fault Davis for this one: 20 of 32, 222 yards, two TD, no picks, no sacks.

What the loss means: UB falls to 2-9 overall and 1-6 in the MAC.

In the house: 9,786 at UB Stadium.

He said it: “It’s always hard to watch your seniors go out without a successful win. I can even express the words I feel for these young men because it’s tough to go out at your stadium with a loss.” – UB coach Jeff Quinn

Next up: at winless Akron on Black Friday.
