UB-Ohio game thread

Ohio 34, UB 17, final

Ohio 34, UB 17, 5:18 left in the game: Jackson hit McCrae for a 15-yard touchdown that pretty much put the game away for the Bobcats.

Injury report: Senior LB Justin Winters was injured and is now being looked at by UB's trainers.

Ohio 27, UB 17, 12:13 left in the game: LB Khalil Mack forced a fumble that was recovered by Means at the Ohio 6. Zordich scored on a keeper to pull the Bulls within 10.

Ohio 27, UB 10, end of the third quarter: The Bulls have the ball 1st and 10 on the Ohio 35 to start the fourth quarter.

Injury report: Junior linebacker Fred Branch was injured but walked off the field without the help of trainers.

Ohio 27, UB 10, 6:03 left in the third quarter: A.J. Principe kicked a 34-yard FG.

Ohio 27, UB 7, 10:15 left in the third quarter: Ohio quarterback Boo Jackson now has a cool hat trick - touchdowns running, catching and throwing - after hitting Terrence McCrae for a 15-yard TD over UB cornerback Sherrod Lott. The Bobcats missed the extra point but does it really matter?

Ohio 21, UB 7, halftime: The Bulls have turned over the ball three times - two interceptions and a fumble by Zordich. The second INT was a heave toward the end zone that was picked off just before halftime. UB finally scored with 3:06 left in the second quarter on Zordich’s 17-yard fade pass to Marcus Rivers. The Bulls ran the same play on their previous snap and it was nearly intercepted by cornerback Shannon Ballard. Replays showed that the ball hit the ground and was incomplete. It was Zordich’s first career touchdown pass and Rivers first TD reception since the 81-yarder from Jerry Davis at Northern Illinois.

Ohio 14, UB 0, end of first: Lots of action before the end of the quarter. Ohio recovered a fumble by Alex Zordich deep in Bulls territory but the Bobcats gave it right back on an interception by sophomore DE Steven Means. Then on 3rd and 16 Ohio was hit with a personal foul penalty for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Gill. We're seeing a lot more running from Zordich, who has already rushed for 46 yards.

Ohio 14, UB 0, 3:04 left in the first quarter: Ohio quarterback Boo Jackson is showing his versatility with two TDs: One rushing and the other on a reception. Jackson scored from a yard out on the Bobcats first drive, then scored on a 26-yard TD reception from Phil Bates. It was Jackson second catch of the season. Looks like the Bulls could be in for a long night. ... Domonic Cook (St. Joe’s), Dalonte Wallace and Graham Whinery served as captains for Thursday’s game. …  Sophomore linebacker Jaleel Verser (ankle) did not play in the game. Verser also missed last week’s game against Miami (Ohio) with the same injury.  … Senior linebacker Raphael Akobundu was injured less than two minutes into the game. He walked off the field with the help of trainers and was replaced by junior John Syty (Clarence). … Sophomore tailback Jeffvon Gill made his first start of the season and redshirt freshman Carlos Lammons started at cornerback in place of senior Sherrod Lott.
