Asprilla transfers to Canisius (update)

---Former Kansas State junior center Freddy Asprilla, who left the team earlier this month is transferring to Canisius College, The Buffalo News has learned.

Asprilla is in Buffalo making an unofficial visit to Canisius and gave a verbal to coach Tom Parrotta this afternoon according to Art Alvarez, Asprilla's Miami-based AAU coach. Both will attend tonight's Niagara-Canisius game.

Canisius recruited Asprilla heavily before the decided to attend Kansas State, where he started 13 games and averaged 4.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in his first season with the Wildcats. He had transferred from Florida International.
