---Jim Calhoun, pictured above, and UConn finally received their punishment from the NCAA stemming from a Yahoo! report in March, 2009 by St. Bonaventure grad Adrian Wojnarowski and Dan Wetzel. Calhoun was suspended for three Big East games next season, and the program was placed on probation and handed down recruiting restrictions. Here's some reaction from across the country:
Pat Forde writes the penalties assessed to Bruce Pearl and Jim Calhoun are incremental proof that the Cult of the Head Coach isn’t the ivory tower it used to be. Gary Parrish says all Calhoun really got for cheating was a three-game suspension. Jeff Jacobs said Calhoun has treated this entire sordid affair like it was another basketball game. Here's more reaction from TSN's Mike DeCourcy, The Dagger's Jeff Eisenberg, ESPN's Dana O'Neil, and AOL Fanhouse's David Steele.
---The NCAA will now focus on Tennessee who could release its notice of allegation as early as today.
---The race is on for the No. 4 seed and opening round bye in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, and a handful of teams are in the running. Meanwhile St. Bonaventure hopes to gain ground in the league.
---Utah State has only one win against a team inside the RPI 100 but the Aggies aren't worried about the public's perception.
