---Former UB athletics director Bob Arkeilpane has been named the AD at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Arkeilpane, a Sweet Home and Syracuse graduate and the former deputy AD at Cincinnati, will succeed Dr. Ray Cieplik who will retire this summer after having served the Coast Guard Academy for more than 40 years.
Arkeilpane was the AD at UB from 1999-03.

Amy Moritz, a native of Lockport, hhas covered colleges for The Buffalo News since 1999. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism/mass communication from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s degree in humanities from the University at Buffalo. An endurance athlete, she has completed several triathlons, half marathons and marathons.
