Strong safety Issac Baugh has been declared out for tonight's game against Stony Brook because of a shoulder injury suffered in the season opener against Pitt. Baugh practiced on a limited basis this week and wanted to play, but it was decided a game's rest would be in his best interests with the Mid-American Conference opener looming next week at Ball State.
Elsewhere, Toledo certainly validated its status as the team to beat in the MAC with Saturday's near upset of 15th-ranked Ohio State in Columbus. Rockets wideout Erie Page had 12 catches for 145 yards and two TDs in the 27-22 loss. Toledo entertains No. 4 Boise State Friday and, now that I think about it, I'll be driving by Toledo Friday on my way to Muncie, Ind. Pit stop!!!
