UB's Khalil Mack has been named National Linebacker of the Week by College Football Performance Awards. What's that, you ask? I'm not sure. But it certainly can't be a bad thing. Mack had eight tackles, 3 1/2 tackles for losses, forced two fumbles and picked a pass in Saturday's 35-7 conquest of Stony Brook.
A UB release says the goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
There you have it. All I know is he was, as usual, all over the place Saturday.
