First day for Bulls at Olympic Swim Trials

Matt Schwippert and Matt Hogan kicked off the University at Buffalo's appearance in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Neb., Tuesday morning.

Schwippert, a native of East Aurora and graduate of Iroquois, placed 54th out of 127 finishers in the 100 backstroke. Schwippert swam a 57.03.

Hogan finished 85th out of 124 in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.95.

Wednesday, Brittney Kuras swims two of her four events, competing in the 200 free and the 200 IM.
