Women's professional basketball seaon overseas is just beginning and another former Big 4 standout has signed a contract. Brittany Hedderson will play for Turun Riento, a top-division team in Finland. Her season begins on Oct. 6.
Hedderson was a first-team All-Mid American Conference selection from the University at Buffalo. She fnished second in the league last year averaging 20.4 points a game and set a school record with 39 points in a win over Oakland.
Her senior year was her best, scoring 631 points -- the second most points in a season in program history. Her 1,462 career points ranks fourth and she is one of only two players in school history to record 1,400 points and 300 assists. (Brenna Doty is the other.)
St. Bonaventure's Jessica Jenkins has landed in Iceland where she will play for the Keflavik club.
