Live blog: Bona vs. Binghamton

OLEAN -- Welcome to banner ceremony day No. 2 at the Reilly Center. As the men unveiled their A-10 tournament championship and NCAA tourney banner last night, the women will unfurl their A-10 regular season championship and Sweet 16 banner before kicking off the season against Binghamton.

The Bearcats are coming off a 13-18 season. They lost to eventual America East champ Albany in the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Check back for updates throughout the game and follow for photos and tidbits.

15:17 left. Bona leads, 43-21. The Bonnies are in control of the game, starting the half on a 5-0 run.

Bona 33, Binghamton 18.

After trailing 10-3, the Bonnies went on a 30-8 run to take control of the game. Freshman Katie Healy leads all scoreres with eight points.

First half

3:07 left. Bona leads, 24-16. A three-pointer rom Ashley Zahn helped Bona gain some separation. They've been caught sleeping on a few defensive plays but continue to look stronger than they did in the first four minutes of the game. Still, the Bearcats are athletic and have some good moves in the low post and are very much in this game.

7:50 left. Bona leads, 15-12. Katie Healy has six points as the Bonnies gathered some energy in that last segement. They look poised and more aggressive. In other words, more like the Bona program we've come to expect.

11:47 left: Binghamton leads, 12-7. Freshman Katie Healy scored her first collegiate points, on a baseline jumper, and a nice drive and finish by sophomore Tatinana Wilson seemed to kick start the Bonnies on both ends of the floor.

14:54 left. Binghamton leads, 8-3. Binghamton made sme tough shots and the Bonnies missed some. Bona doesn't want to get into the habit of flat defense or not contesting shots.
