Miami (Ohio)-UB game thread

UB 27, Miami 24, final: Patrick Clarke's 47-yard FG with no time remaining lifted the Bulls to their first victory since beating Morgan State on Sept. 8. Devin Campbell's 47-yard kickoff return put UB in field goal range to the Miami 35 with 14 seconds left. Oliver's 5-yard run moved the Bulls to the Miami 30 and Clarke did the rest. ... Miami converted a 4th and 20 on a reception by Cruse to the UB 5 with 26 seconds left. Then Dysert tied the game by lobbing the pass to Harwell for the tying TD. ... Lee Skinner (sack) and Marcus Baker (two break ups) came up with huge plays  4th and  in for a huge sack on first After a fumbled snap on a field goal attempt, Tony Daniel ran for his life and kept the drive going by completing a pass to Alex Dennison. Miami was also called for roughing the passer pushing the ball to the Miami 18. The Bulls scored shortly thereafter on a 21-yard TD pass to Fred Lee, his first TD reception of the year. ... Miami was driving and after Andy Cruse stiff armed a UB defender, Lee Skinner forced a fumble that was recovered ILB Willie Moseley. It was the Bulls first forced fumble of the season. ... Harwell, scored his second TD of the day, and the 20th of his career with 13:55 left to tie the contest at 17. Harwell adjusted to Dysert's pass with Bulls CB Najja Johnson on the coverage.

UB 17, Miami 10, third quarter: Both offenses perked up after halftime, especially in the passing game. Licata hit Alex Neutz for a 43-yard strike off a slant and UB pulled ahead 17-10 with 4:08 left. It was Neutz's ninth TD reception of the season, joining Naaman Roosevelt as the only WRs in school history with nine or more TDs. ... Oliver, who now has 170 yards, scored the game's first TD with 9:49 left on a 5-yard run to give the Bulls a 10-3 lead. The score was set up on play action draw by Oliver that went for 27 yards to the Miami 5. It marked Oliver's fourth TD on the season and the 17th in his three-year career. Oliver did not score a rushing TD during his redshirt freshman year. ... Miami answered with a Dysert TD pass to Nick Harwell from 10-yards out to tie the game at 10. ... Means recorded a backhanded sack using only his left arm. Scouts have to be impressed with that kind of strength. It was his 15th sack of his career. ... Dysert surpassed Ben Roethlisberger for Miami's school record in passing yards which was held for nine seasons. 

UB 3, Miami 3, halftime: Defense is the story so far. Both Licata and Dysert have thrown for 35 yards. ... With 1:56 left, forced by Miami's Kent Kern forced a fumble on UB RB Devin Campbell was was recovered on the UB 29. The Bulls avoided disaster as the defense held and Miami turned it over on downs. ... Oliver, with 102 yards rushing in the half, matched James Starks for the most 100-yard games in school history with 12. ... UB K Patrick Clarke connected on a 49-yard field, tying a career long, with 4:42 left in the quarter to tie the game at 3. ... The RedHawks settled for a 29-yard field goal by Kaleb Patterson, his 13th consecutive field goal this season. ... With UB driving early in the quarter, Licata tossed his first interception of the afternoon on a pass intended for Fred Lee.

UB 0, Miami 0: first quarter: Joe Licata started the game but redshirt freshman Tony Daniel entered the game during the second series and didn't attempt a pass. Licata, who has completed 1 of 2 passes for minus-2 yards, re-entered the game during the third offensive series. ... RB Bo Oliver already has 60 yards rushing on nine carries. ... Miami punter Zac Murphy uncorked a career-long 74-yard punt into the win. It tied for the third longest in school history.
