Martin Kober's 'Mike' to be exhibited in Rome

Martin Kober, of Tonawanda, stands beside a copy of a painting he and others claim is the work of Renaissance artist Michelangelo.

On Sunday, The New York Times ran a lengthy feature on Tonawanda resident Martin Kober's mission to attribute a painting that's long been in his family to the hand of Michelangelo. That mission is making slow but measured progress, as the Times reports that it will go on view in Rome on Oct. 25 as part of the Rome Foundation's exhibition "Rome in the Renaissance, from Michelangelo to Vasari."
