French-Canadian pianist Alain Lefevre is in town playing the Piano Concerto No. 4 of Andre Mathieu. Mathieu, who was just 39 when he died in 1968, wrote this concerto as a teenager. Lefevre played it at the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's Friday morning Coffee Concert and is playing it again Saturday at 8 p.m. at Kleinhans Music Hall.
The piece is a wild ride! It is very romantic.
Intrigued? Who isn't? You can get a taste of Lefevre's personality, as well as this music, by checking out the video interview up above. Also I would be honored if you checked out my review of the concert in Saturday's Life & Arts section.
