Just Buffalo Literary Center will join with the Buffalo Small Press Book Fair this evening in presenting 'All Poetry is Small Press Poetry,' a reading and pre-party for this week-end's 2013 Buffalo Small Press Book Fair beginning at 8 p.m. at the Western New York Book Arts Center, 468 Washington St. (near Mohawk St.) in Buffalo. The event is free and open to the public.
The four visiting poets, all of whom will be participating with over 140 other
exhibitors this week-end's fair, are Matthew Klane, Sueyeun Juliette Lee, Chris
McCreary, and Jenn McCreary.
Klane, who lives in Albany, NY, is co-editor at Flim Forum Press. His books
include “B” (Stockport Flats 2008), “Being Che” (Stockport Flats 2013) and
"My" (Fence eBooks, forthcoming 2014). He co-curates the Yes! Poetry &
Performance Series in Albany and teaches at the Sage
Sueyeun Juliette Lee’s books include “That Gorgeous Feeling” (Coconut Books)
and “Underground National” (Factory School), as well as numerous chapbooks,
most recently “A Primary Mother” (part of the Least Weasel Series at Propolis
Press). She writes poetry reviews for
the Constant Critic and is a poetry editor for the Asian American Writers'
Workshop. Lee lives in Philadelphia where she teaches at the University of the
Arts and publishes Corollary Press.
Chris McCreary’s most recent book is “Undone: A Fakebook” (Furniture Press),
and his chapbook “Elseworlds” was just published by Cy Gist Press. With Jenn
McCreary, he co-edits ixnay press (www.ixnaypress.com). He has reviews poetry for such venues as Rain Taxi, the Poetry Project Newsletter,
and The Volta and teaches English and creative writing at a private high school
outside of Philadelphia.
Jenn McCreary is the author of “:ab ovo:” (Dusie Press, 2009) and numerous
chapbooks including: “errata stigmata” (Potes & Poets Press), “four o’clock
pocket chiming” (Beautiful Swimmer Press), and
“Odyssey & Oracle” (Least Weasel Press). Her new collection, "& now my feet
are maps" is forthcoming from Dusie Press this spring. She lives with her
husband, the writer Chris McCreary, and their twin sons in Philadelphia, where
she serves as Communications Director for the Mural Arts Program, and co-edits
ixnay press with Chris.
The 2013 Buffalo Small Press Book Fair itself will run tomorrow (Saturday) from
noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Karpeles Manuscript
Library Museum, 453 Porter Ave. in Buffalo.
Like all the readings and workshops related to it, attending the fair is free and open to the public.
